The Ten Greatest Bands of all Time (updated version)

On November 24 of 2017 I published an article called "The Ten Greatest Bands of all Time".   I had thought about it for a good while and came up with this list:

1. Led Zeppelin
2. The Beatles
3. The Rolling Stones
4. The Who
5. Pink Floyd
6. Rush
7. Nirvana
8. Journey
9. Foreigner
10. Motley Crue

After completing the list, I had a feeling I may have missed a band or two.  I always encourage feedback to anything I write about because I really enjoy the opinions of other people.   Fortunately,  I received plenty of feedback on this one.  It turned out I was right - I did miss a few bands.  So, I gave it some more thought and now I would like to update the list.  So, here we go - my updated version of the ten greatest bands of all time.

2. The Beatles
3. The Rolling Stones
4. The Who
5. Pink Floyd
6. Queen
7. Aerosmith
8. Rush
9. The Eagles
10. Nirvana

I think this is a good list and I feel very comfortable with it.  However, as always, I'd love to hear the opinions of others.  I may once again have missed a few.  Hoping for some comments.....

    Certainly Nirvana has done nothing to warrant being included on this list. On of the GREATEST? Including a generally marginal band (yes, "marginal" is absolutely the correct word) like Nirvana is REALLY reaching. Sorry. I cannot argue with the rest but The Beatles *have* to be #1. To put them any less than #1 shows a lack of wholistic understanding of pop/rock music.

Favorite Guitar Solos

The Most Inefficient Team in all of Professional Sports.......

    The New York Mets.  As I type this, The New York Mets have 46 wins and 52 losses.  They are in 4th place in the National League East, 17.5 games behind the division leading Atlanta Braves.   This may not be too bad especially when you consider The Mets are only 7 games away from a possible Wild Card playoff berth.  However, it's real bad when you consider what this team is being paid.  It's the highest payroll in baseball - in the area of 360 million dollars.  Add to this Steve Cohen, the owner of The Mets, will pay 110 million dollars in luxury tax - bringing the total amount spent on this team to around 470 million dollars.   By contrast, the currently most efficient team in baseball, The Baltimore Orioles.  First place in the American League East.  60 wins, 38 losses.  This for the price of 61 million dollars, with no luxury tax.   There are other teams in pro sports that suffer from inefficiency - but no one comes close to 2023 The New York Mets.  If they do miss the pl

The Best Player in Major League Baseball....

    Shohei Ohtani is currently the best player in Major League Baseball.     The Los Angeles Angels are in a very difficult position when it comes to Ohtani.  He will be a free agent at the end of this season.  The Angels will most likely lose him because free agency almost always ends in a bidding war - in which case The New York Mets and  owner Steve Cohen will win.  If I am running the Angels - I would most likely trade him before the August 1st deadline.  Otherwise he leaves and you get nothing for him.  We'll have to wait and see how it plays out......
