Scott Peterson/Casey Anthony/The Menendez Brothers - What a crew!!

As a true crime fan, I'm well aware of these three cases. There have been several television programs on these cases over the last couple of years.   I found these programs fascinating and enjoyable. I was inspired to study the cases.  What is interesting about these three cases is you can make arguments either way.   Were they all guilty?  Were they innocent?  Or as in the Menendez Brothers case, were they innocent victims of parental abuse??  I'll provide my take on all three cases here. Scott Peterson:   To coin the exact opposite phrase of his attorney Mark Geragos - Stone Cold Guilty.  He killed that poor woman and poor unborn child.  Why??  Very simple.  First of all he didn't want to be married, he wanted to be a player.  That's all fine and dandy but why not just get divorced?  Simple there, too - he didn't want to be saddled with child support.  The only way to get rid of both of his problems was to anchor Laci up and drop her to the bottom of San Francis

Top Ten Best Films of the 2000s

Hard to believe but another decade is coming to a close.  Amazing how time flies in this life.   With time comes age, and with age, comes appreciation of past glories.  Personally, I'm not much for remembering the past or trying to relive previous experiences.   I prefer to live in the here and now.  However, what I do like to do as time passes is make judgments on movies and music.   This is always interesting to me.  It's interesting because as time passes, you have changed.  You're not the same person you were in the 2000s.    However, the music and films of that decade have remained exactly the same.     But since you have changed - the way you hear the music and see the movies will also change.  Keeping that thought in mind I feel enough time has passed to look back to the decade of the 2000s.   Which films of that decade still look great today?   I have come up with a top ten and will provide a mini description of each movie.  Enjoy! 1.  "Sophie Scholl:  The Fi

The Best Music of the 1960s, Minus the British Invasion Bands

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine and we started talking about the music of the 1960s.   My friend is a couple of years older than me.   He was born in 1963, I was born in 1965.  Neither one of us was really aware  of what was going on musically in the 1960s because we were so young.   However we could look back from the vantage point of today  and decide which music came out of that decade still sounds great today.    Well, as I'm sure you can imagine - the music that kept coming up in our conversation was The Beatles.   And it is true, the music The Beatles created in the 1960s (not all of it - but a good portion of it)  still holds up today.    Then we started talking about the Rolling Stones, The Who, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin.   All of them great bands that started their careers in the 1960s.   I could see my friend and I had similar taste.  We both thought that those British bands did some great work in the 1960s that still sounds good today.   So, I came up wi

Saturday Night Live: Which Cast Members were the Best, and Why???

Saturday Night Live has certainly been a staple of American culture.  Incredibly, it is now into its 44th season on the air.    Being 53 years old , I have grown up with the show.  I was a fan right from the start in 1975.   Over the years the show has had its ups and downs.  Literally hundreds of cast members have come and gone over the 44 year history of Saturday Night Live.   But who was the best, and why? Well, I think the only way to answer this question is to categorize.    There is too much comedic material from too many different individuals to try to lock it all into one box.   The best way is to come up with different categories and apply them as you see fit.  This is what I have come up with.   My answers are based on the entire history of the show and every cast member that has performed.  Here goes: Best Male Impressionist:  Tough one as there have been so many.   I will go with Dana Carvey. Best Female Impressionist:  Tough on this one as well.   I will go with Kri
