A friend of mine from the Google + Movies community named Annette Rodgers recently posted a clip from a 1979 movie. I hadn't seen it in years. After watching the clip it started coming back to me how funny the film was. This was a movie that made me laugh hysterically. It got me thinking - what other films made me laugh that hard? And laugh that often? Sometimes a movie will have a few good bits that are mildly funny. But there aren't too many that will have you laughing hard all the way through. I've given it some thought and have come up with the 5 films that to me are the funniest of all time. I'll discuss each one a bit as well. These films are in no special order, just the 5 funniest movies I could think of. So, let's get started: 1. "Life of Brian" This was the movie that Annette Rodgers posted. Released in 1979 and created by Monty Python. It satirizes the Jesus Christ story. That may not ...
To me it's obvious who won. But let's look at the details first. To me, at the absolute forefront is age. Ben Simmons is a whopping 7 years younger than James Harden. For a lot of NBA players, 7 years is a career. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers have proven the importance of age in the NBA. The Cavs, with all of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd year players sit at 34-21 (as I write this). The Lakers, full of superstar 30 something players, are 26-30. In today's NBA, youth wins. I'll take a 7 years younger All-Star everyday over an aging, veteran superstar. The next issue is fit. I think this is a win for both teams. Philadelphia wants to win right now. They want to maximize Joel Embiid's prime. If you can keep Harden on the court, he's terrific. Plus he's a shooter, exactly what the 76ers needed. Brooklyn, I think, needed some defense. The Nets have plenty of shooters....
I'm pondering this question while watching and listening to Beatles videos on You Tube. I guess you could also add "could they have reunited" to this equation. Lets deal with that question first. Yes I believe The Beatles could have reunited. This is based on the fact that if you look at 1973 and 1974, they were all playing together - just not all 4 at the same time, which indicates that the rancor of the early 70s had subsided quite a bit. And I hate to say this but I believe its true - if John Lennon stays with May Pang they would have reunited. It was Lennon's intention to join McCartney during the "Venus and Mars" sessions. Ringo had remained friends with all of them - and I believe, probably with a little pushing, George Harrison would've jumped on the bandwagon as well. 1974 or 1975 would have been the time to do it. Unfortunately, Lennon went back with Yoko Ono and any momentum for...
