The Greatest Ending of a Movie
I won't say the ending of a movie will make it or break it. Some really good films have had mediocre endings. "Jaws", "Good Will Hunting", "Raging Bull", "Taxi Driver", "The Aviator" as examples. These endings didn't ruin the film - they just didn't add to it. They weren't memorable. On the other hand, some movies have had really memorable endings. Endings that stick with you. The question today is which one was the best? Let's take a look:
Here are some of my favorite endings of movies
1. "Excision" 2012 - It's a stunning ending -it shocks you
2. "Million Dollar Baby" 2004 - This one is a bit of a twist, but it's great
3. "Doubt" 2008 - Meryl Streep sums up the whole film in this ending
4. "The Shawshank Redemption" 1994 - A beautiful ending
5. "Whiplash" 2014 - A knowing look between two foes ends this one
6. "The Usual Suspects" 1995 - The entire convoluted story comes together in the last 5 minutes
I've listed 6 really great, memorable endings of terrific films. However, I don't find any of them to be the best. IMO, the greatest ending of a movie is....

"The Godfather: Part 2" 1974 - This is the most complete and satisfying ending to a movie. After he has made all of his moves, Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino) ends up alone with his thoughts. Everyone is gone. There is nothing left to say. Perfect ending.
I'd love to hear the opinions of others on this topic. What do you think is the greatest ending of a movie?
