The Starting Quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022 - Any Suggestions?

Image
As the title says - does anyone have a suggestion as to who should be the starting QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2022?   As far as what Mike Tomlin has planned for 2022 - no one knows for sure.  He's waffled between Mason Rudolph, drafting a QB, and possibly signing a free agent.  This is the way to do it, you never want to tip your hand. Tomlin certainly hasn't.  Even us Pittsburgh residents (I actually live 20 miles outside the city) have no idea who will be behind center in '22.   However, anyone can suggest and that is what I'm going to do in this article. First up, Mason Rudolph.  Well, I don't like him.  He is very disconcerting.  He's had opportunities.  He has started games.  He has gone into weeks knowing he would be starter.  In other words, he was prepared ahead of time, much unlike an injury occurring and being thrown into a game.   He's been around for four years.  All o...

Ben Simmons and James Harden Trade.......Who Won?

Image
To me it's obvious who won.  But let's look at the details first.  To me, at the absolute forefront is age.  Ben Simmons is a whopping 7 years younger than James Harden.  For a lot of NBA players, 7 years is a career.   The Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers have proven the importance of age in the NBA.  The Cavs, with all of their 1st, 2nd and 3rd year players sit at 34-21 (as I write this).  The Lakers, full of superstar 30 something players, are 26-30.  In today's NBA, youth wins.  I'll take a 7 years younger All-Star everyday over an aging, veteran superstar.   The next issue is fit.  I think this is a win for both teams.  Philadelphia wants to win right now.  They want to maximize Joel Embiid's prime.  If you can keep Harden on the court, he's terrific.  Plus he's a shooter, exactly what the 76ers needed.  Brooklyn, I think, needed some defense.  The Nets have plenty of shooters....

MLB approves Universal DH for 2022

As a fan of The New York Mets, this was good news.  The Mets have several options.   If it was me, meaning if I was managing The Mets,  I'd take a good long look at Robinson Cano.  No matter how you slice the pie, you have to pay him that 24 mil.  Might as well get some use out of him.   Cano is 39 years old.  I don't see him as an every day player.  Seems to me he's a perfect fit as a DH.  The other candidates, right now, are Dominic Smith and JD Davis.  Nothing to get excited about.  My money is on Cano.  This is of course assuming he doesn't get suspended again for PED use.  He comes back in 2022 rested.  His body should be ready to go (for a 39 year old anyway).   I hope The Mets give him every opportunity.  Who do you think will be DH'ing for  The Mets in 2022?
